The SCHOOL BUS STEEL WALL CRASH was first thought of by Tricky Travelstead. Crash Moreau came up with an idea to drive a dump truck into the standing bus. In June of 2003, he got together with his partner WILDMAN AL and attempted one with a dump truck at Lebanon Valley Speedway. It didn't turn out exactly what they expected, but they did thrill the spectators. All the pyro was set up by Crash. And Wildman Al did the driving.
Jim Moreau is known as CAPTAIN EXPLOSION with a US Trademark for this registered name. He uses this name when he blows himself up at Fairs and Speedway thru out North America. In this stunt he calls THE DOOMS DAY CHAIR, which is a cardboard and tin foil chair in which he kneels inside of it. You can always see his head when he is in the chair. Inside of the chair this is a pound of explosives that will be detonated about 18 inches from his head. The Captain is one of a hand full of stuntmen in the country today that knows how to do this act. Jim has never been injured while performing this act and has done it over 500 times since 1980 when he learned how to do it on THE WORLD SERIES OF THRILLS from Big John Anderson. The original name for the stunt was called The Russian Chair Of Death.
The T-Bone Crash is where a stuntman will drive a stock automobile at a high rate of speed and crash broad side into another parked car while going off a low ramp elevation. On impact the car that he is driving will flip end over end landing 90% of the time on it's roof. On one ocassion he was trapped inside of the car for over 20 minutes while emergency crews tried to get him out. This one time the roof came in on him that pinned his crash helmet to the bottom of the seat. The only protection he uses for this act is a stock lap seat belt and a crash helmet.
Trashing The Mobile Home was first done by stunt performer Hank"Hoss" Wise. Hank died from injuries from performing this act in Myrtle Beach SC in the late 90's. He didn't make it thru the mobile home and was trapped inside of it while the trailor was burning. He was wearing no fire protective clothing and was burnt severly as he had on a polyester uniform. This picture is of Wildman Al Sleep who has done a few of these crashes that was set-up by Crash Moreau under the show name of the THRILLMASTERS. Jim blows everything up on impact into a ball of fire.
